Brian Clement Ph.D., L.N.

A typical American growing up in the New Jersey/New York area, Brian likes to joke that he was a pioneer in the field of obesity—he was fat even before many Americans were fat! Raised in an Irish household on the standard American diet of meat, processed foods and sugary sodas, he was unfit and gasping for air every few steps.

When he was 20 years old, he was dating a girl whose best friend’s boyfriend was 30—and a vegetarian. Despite the fact he had been more or less educated by his family that the body would die without animal-based foods, the lure of an influential peer inspired him to give up meat in one fell swoop. For the first year and a half, he kept his vegetarian diet a secret from his family. Yet after losing 120 pounds and experiencing the difference in his health, he came out of the proverbial closet (much to his family’s dismay!) and became a complete vegan three years later.

A natural performer, Brian had worked his way through college as a musician. Many friends, including one who shared his interest in nutrition after healing herself from cancer through diet, offered feedback that he was born to teach. With his degree in biochemistry in hand and his interest in nutrition sealed, Brian began doing just that.

Brian Clement, Ph.D., L.N.

Clements experience with food and lifestyle was like that of most.  At an early age of 20 he began his journey to embrace a healthier way of life.  Shedding exceptional weight and leaving behind, cigarettes and grass, he finally felt himself for the first time ever.  Mature colleagues placed him under their wing and slowly led him down the road via conferences, lectures, and seminars held by some of the historic figures in the modern health movement. Brian gained much of his knowledge and experience under the tutelage of the following:

· Ann Wigmore

· Viktoras Kulvinskas

· Dr. John Cristopher

· Dr. Bernard Jensen

· Paul Bragg

· Elma Nissan Brandal

Brian expresses “Modern education lacks the depth, breadth and competency of mentorships. Though scholastic knowledge is fundamental, the practical and effective approach of working personally with people and observing their outcomes raises ones experience to a significantly higher level.”

For half a century, Clement has expanded his knowledge and competency by stretching the boundaries, borders and limitations of his realm.  Founding and spearheading the International health movement he has personally guided hundreds of thousands worldwide.  Bringing individuals “back to themselves” so they rekindle their inherent power to heal and liberate their bodies and minds has been his foremost mission. With over 50 years of gaining insights personally from those he has guided has afforded him a rare opportunity that he fully embraces.

Clement joined the HHI team at their Boston facility in 1975.  Within a year he was representing the institute via lectures, seminars, conferences, and TV and radio interviews.  In addition, he was published in much of the print media throughout the US and Europe.  In 1977 he launched a Continental tour that ended up lasting for 3 years, during this time, he assisted in developing centers like Foundation Soleil in Geneva, Switzerland with Tal Schaller, M.D.  Egypt’s Sadat government invited him in to participate in UN projects helping to combat hunger.  He was then honored to be asked to direct the original plant based healing center for one year at Denmark’s Humlegaarten and act as a consultant for India’s Prime Minister Desai.  He guided and worked with physicians, in Israel, specifically Haifa, Tel Aviv, Eliot, and Jerusalem.

Nineteen eighty, Brian assumed directorship of HHI and seven years later relocated this historic center to West Palm Beach, Florida.  With his wife and Co Director Anna Maria Clement, PHD, LN, they have worked tirelessly to build the Institute’s outreach, advance technologies, and scope of offerings.  This sprawling Institute rests on sixty tropical acres.  At the turn of the twenty-first century the Institute received the notable award as the world’s foremost healing center.

Brian’s love is to professionally mentor and guide guests back to a semblance of balance and wellbeing, the ultimate goal being the birth of a healthy individual who contributes to a healthy humanity.  More than a hundred thousand hours of practical and clinical experience places him into a small fraternity of progressive thinkers.

Twenty fifteen, Brian and his colleagues challenged the medical field in Eastern Europe’s Lithuania to offer graduate degrees in plant based lifestyle medicine.  This came to fruition with the international efforts of colleagues like Dr. Colin T. Campbell, Dr. Katz, Dr. Esselstyne, and others.  His relentless research in Quantum physics, advanced Biology, Natural History, and Earth Chemistry opened up treasure troves of insightful science that supersedes the mundane methods practiced in health care today.  Considered a boundary breaker, he has unshakable beliefs concerning the power of the mind and body to prevent and conquer premature aging and disease.

He has authored more than 25 books, filmed more than 2000 hours of educational material, and is one of the most prolific experts in the comprehensive arenas that manifest exceptional wellbeing. Among some of his offerings is the three volume academic series – Food Is Medicine, his popular books like LifeForce, Living Foods for Optimal Health , 7 Ways to Lifelong Sexual Vitality, Killer Fish, Dairy Deception, Sweet Disease, Emo-Spirit, and many others.

Brian has lectured in over 47 states and 28 countries at establishments that include: Harvard, Regents College in London and countless universities and institutions. Brian has lectured at the Real Truth About Health Conference (TRTAH) yearly since it began. Hippocrates helped found, and sponsors this event, with an aim to support essential knowledge becoming mainstream. Clement states “Disease is the absence of homeostasis. Our current approach to correcting maladies is overly zealous and lacks the nuance and subtleties of the sophisticated systems that make us whole.

Since that time, he has directed the Institute’s growth and development, as well as facilitated the implementation of progressive natural health treatments and programs. Brian’s progressive ideas on natural health, coupled with his vast theoretical and practical science experience, have provided him with the opportunity to conduct countless seminars, lectures and educational programs. He has traveled to more than 25 countries motivating the public to take action to improve their lives. Most recently, he was commissioned by government-supported organizations to establish, organize and direct health programs in Denmark, Switzerland, Greece and India.

Brian has also written numerous books in which he explores the various aspects of health, spirituality and natural healing. His best-selling book, “Living Foods for Optimum Health,” has been acclaimed by Marilyn Diamond, co-author of the book “Fit for Life,” as “an important and eminently readable book for the new era of self-care,” and by Coretta Scott King as a “landmark guide to the essentials of healthy living.”

For six-and-a-half decades Hippocrates has fostered the ultimately effective approach and dispensed knowledge on how to reestablish balance so that immunity and psyche unite to heal disease.
