What does it mean to "go vegan"?

Making the decision to go vegan means that your lifestyle is a daily, conscious effort to impart the least amount of harm to your own health by refusing all animal products as food, and to animals, by avoiding their exploitation in ways that cause harm, suffering, or unnecessary death. 

FOR YOUR HEALTH

Diets containing animal products are harmful to your health. According to a study published in 2016 by JAMA International Medicine, “High animal protein intake was positively associated with cardiovascular mortality and high-plant protein intake was inversely associated with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, especially among individuals with at least one lifestyle risk factor.”

The deforestation of the Amazon (80%) and other parts of the world are attributed to cattle being raised for food. Additionally, livestock are fed 35% of world’s grains while millions of humans are starving each day.
