I started to eat better and did some light walking to get my blood flowing. Little by little I built up a good pace and a great attitude and started to lose weight and get control of my life.
I had quite an active lifestyle until my first daughter came along in 2000. I was working full time and only had a few precious hours with her each day.
What really helped me succeed was my huge thirst for knowledge and love of learning. I attended a lecture by a well-know raw food nutritionist who delivered a message that spoke to my heart.
When she arrived at the Hippocrates Wellness she needed a wheelchair or walker to get around. She suffered from extreme pain in all of her joints as well as edema in her hands and feet.
The first time I came to Hippocrates Wellness was in 1992. An 80+ year-old columnist in a financial newsletter answered a lady who had asked why he was so vibrant and active at his age.
I eventually chose to quit my banking career in 2001. At forty, I had reached a stage in my life whereby I was ready to make real changes and allow my passions and values to meet my professional life.
